I'll be completing a residency at The Union for Contemporary Art from July 31st through August 12th. As a part of their programming, I'll be part of a panel discussion about the power of the photographic image. This discussion is in conjunction with the exhibition Where We Land.
Join us for a conversation about the power, authority, and reliability of photographic images with exhibiting photographer Zora Murff and Chief Photographer for WOWT News Mike Plews.
Where We Land explores the landscape of disproportionate violence against people of color. Photographer Zora Murff (Lincoln, NE), and multidisciplinary artists Jordan Weber (Des Moines, IA) and Lachell Workman (Bridgeport, CT) use the physical materials and visual details of urban and natural environments as a vehicle to explore presumed narratives and the gaps between contradictory interpretations of shared views of violence.
